Event: Creative Lives & Careers: How Do You See Yourself?
This workshop provides artists with the tools to represent themselves and their creative process. We’ll analyze successful postcards, ads, and marketing campaigns as models for your own use.
Exhibitions: Shana Robbins: Supernatural Conductor, and Amy Myers: Feminine Space. Robbins is an Atlanta-based artist whose works address conditions of feminine power, natural phenomena, and cycles of life and death. Myers is a New York- and Kansas City-based artist whose large-scale drawings combine elements from the worlds of physics, horticulture, science fiction, anatomy, and architecture.

FLUX 2010 Presentation. Anne Dennington, executive director of Flux Projects, will talk about FLUX 2010, the organization’s one-night public art celebration in the Castleberry Hill Art District upcoming on Friday, October 1. Dennington will give an overview of the event, an introduction to the projects, and discuss how attendees can best enjoy this years’ event.

Exhibition: Down the Rabbit Hole: The Influence of the Strange and the Familiar. Emily Amy Gallery is pleased to present Down the Rabbit Hole, an exhibition of new works by Georgia-based artists, Jennifer Cawley and Zuzka Vaclavik and New York-based, Cara Enteles. The exhibition features multi-media works incorporating encaustic, plexiglas and watercolor. The title of the exhibition, Down the Rabbit Hole, alludes to the concept of the unexplained, the strange, and the fantastical all present in the work of the included artists.

Don Cooper- E-8?: New Work
Exhibition Dates: September 10th, 2010 – October 16th, 2010.
E-8? takes Cooper’s ritualistic and meditative paintings of time and space to a larger scale and introduces new surfaces and media. The watercolors are on 37″ x 54″ handmade Indian paper painted with pigment made from stones such as jade, turquoise and lapis lazuli.
